RECOMMENDATION:

recommendation

Staff recommends the City Council:

1.                     Hold a hearing on the appeal for the limited purpose of remanding this matter to the Community Development Director to reconsider the Reasonable Accommodation request, in light of anticipated revisions to the City’s Reasonable Accommodation procedures that would more closely align with those of the most recently adopted California Code of Regulations applicable to housing; and

2.                     Notice a subsequent hearing for October 20, 2026 to reconsider the denial of the CUP in light of the Director’s decision on the Reasonable Accommodation request.
